2Shotz, born William Orioha, is one of Nigeria’s veteran hip-hop artists and a respected figure in the evolution of Nigerian rap music. Active since the early 1990s, he emerged as part of the influential mid-2000s wave of Lagos-based hip-hop acts that helped move Nigerian hip-hop from the underground scene into mainstream entertainment. Known for his lyrical style, energetic delivery, and consistency, 2Shotz gained widespread recognition through his association with Trybe Records and collaborations with several notable artists of his era. Before launching his solo career, he worked with different groups and artists, steadily building his reputation within the Nigerian music industry. He later went solo and established himself as a major force in Nigerian hip-hop under Umunnamu Records, a label founded and managed by him. Over the years, 2Shotz delivered several hit records that became fan favorites across Nigeria, including “Jobiokoto,” “Mo Gbona,” and “For The Ladies.” His contributions to the music industry have also earned him multiple awards and accolades, cementing his status as one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian rap.
