Chris Ajilo was a pioneering Nigerian highlife musician and bandleader who formed the Cubanos Fiesta band in the late 1950s. He is credited with incorporating Cuban musical influences into Nigerian highlife, helping to create a more cosmopolitan sound in Lagos's vibrant post-independence music scene. His recordings from the 1960s document a crucial period in the internationalization of Nigerian popular music.
