Biography
Chief Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (MFR) is widely recognized as the creator of Fuji music. Born in Lagos in 1948, he developed Fuji in the late 1960s from the Àjísàrì music performed during the Islamic month of Ramadan, transforming it into a full genre with talking drums and electric instrumentation. Known as 'The Fuji Commander,' his four-decade career profoundly shaped Yoruba popular music until his death in 2010.
