John Ighodaro, known professionally as Johnny Drille, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer born on July 5, 1990, in Edo State. His distinctive sound blends indie folk, soul, and Afropop, and he first gained widespread attention in 2015 with a viral cover of Di'Ja's "Awww" that caught the ear of Don Jazzy, leading to his signing with Mavin Records in 2017. He released his debut album Before We Fall Asleep in 2021, featuring collaborators including Ayra Starr and Ladipoe.
