Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known professionally as Mayorkun, is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, and pianist born on March 23, 1994, in Lagos. He was discovered in 2016 by Davido after posting a cover video online and signed to DMW, releasing the hit debut single "Eleko" before his 2018 album The Mayor of Lagos peaked at number 15 on Billboard's World Albums chart. Affectionately nicknamed the Mayor of Lagos, he is one of Nigeria's most consistent Afropop hitmakers.
