Victor Olaiya (born 1930) is a pioneering Nigerian highlife musician and trumpeter known as 'The Evil Genius of Highlife.' He led the Cool Cats band from the 1950s and is considered alongside I.K. Dairo as one of the two most important figures in the development of modern Nigerian highlife music. His trumpet-driven dance band highlife was a fixture at major Lagos venues during Nigeria's colonial and early independence eras.
